Job Purpose

To assess, implement, monitor, and continuously improve safety compliance and performance at the Ekalbara site, ensuring alignment with internal standards, statutory requirements, and industry best practices.

Principal Accountabilities

1.Implement Contractor Safety Management (CSM) and Responsible Care protocols ? to ensure safe practices, assess contractor performance, and close gaps identified through observations and audits.

2.Maintain and inspect firefighting systems and safety equipment ? to ensure operational readiness and compliance with emergency response standards.

3.Execute core elements of Process Safety Management (HAZOP, MOC/PMA, PSSR) ? to mitigate risks associated with hazardous processes and authorize safe modifications.

4.Conduct site safety rounds and audits ? to identify unsafe acts/conditions and ensure timely corrective actions through follow-up and compliance tracking.

5.Implement and monitor Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Work Permit Systems ? to manage high-risk activities and ensure procedural adherence across departments.

6.Coordinate with statutory bodies (DISH, PESO, Factory Inspectorate) ? to manage inspections, submit compliance reports, and secure renewals and approvals for licenses and safety systems.

7.Develop and deliver safety training programs and promotional activities ? to build safety awareness among employees and contractors and foster a safety-first culture.

8.Investigate incidents and conduct root cause analysis ? to implement corrective actions, track recommendations, and prevent recurrence of safety events.

9.Ensure ISO 45001 and IMS compliance through audits and documentation ? to maintain certification, drive continuous improvement, and meet legal and organizational standards.

10.Plan and conduct mock drills and Safety Committee meetings ? to test emergency preparedness, coordinate cross-functional safety actions, and ensure statutory compliance through record maintenance and reporting.
