Job Purpose

To support procurement and purchasing activities related to engineering and utilities in a chemical manufacturing environment, ensuring timely sourcing, vendor coordination, and compliance with quality and cost standards.

Principal Accountabilities

• Assist in procurement of engineering and utility-related materials and services ? to ensure timely availability for uninterrupted plant operations.
• Assist to coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders ? to manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and documentation.
• Learn and support vendor evaluation and development processes ? to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Learn and maintain procurement records and assist in audits ? to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
• Work with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Maintenance, QA) ? to understand technical specifications and procurement needs.
• Understand and monitor market trends and pricing ? to support cost optimization and strategic sourcing.

Knowledge

Minimum Qualification:

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical Engineering

Work Experience:

Fresher or up to 1 year of internship/industrial training in procurement or engineering support roles

Functional Competencies

• Basic understanding of procurement processes
• Knowledge of engineering materials and specifications
• Familiarity with ERP systems (preferred)
• MS Excel and documentation skills
